It's a good sign for N.America to register the name, BUT, my concern is typically US and Canada do this before Australia and Europe like they did for the NX.

So the 250 is lesser power, but bigger engine.... Lexus just pissed me off lol . The power is placed right between both Is's too.

Definitely not this fall. The official first launch of the new 2L Turbo is in the NX for the 2015 MY coming out in Nov-Dec 2014, which means earliest is MY 2016 for the IS since we can expect 2015 IS's to be out by October this year before the NX. And, we still need the trademark name registered in N. America...

2016 sounds right. I don't think Lexus would spend all that money to modify their assembly line for a car that will be changed in a year. Plus the 200t will be a smaller and different shaped engine and the amount of engineering work required to reroute the mechanical and electrical components would be too expensive. That is also why I think the 2015 model will remain the same. Maybe a few added options to the fsport.

So late for Lexus when all the competitors have turbos for years now but I guess better late than never. I am really concern about reliability on this one especially on the first year generation.

Nah, not worried on reliability which is why they've taken so long. Also, despite the 2.5L V6's power and fuel economy deficiencies against the competitor Turbo 4s, remember, it's a (Lexus) V6 in sound and smoothness - key characteristics for some folks like me who value that over a buzzy (albeit more powerful) four Turbo.

Also I wouldn't be too surprised if North America essentially gets passed up for the 2.0t last minute. There are a lot of nice cars that never make it to America based on how it sells over seas. Civic type R turbo, Accord TDI, Audi A1, BMW 5 Series wagon, IS200D, VW pickup truck, Even the new 2014 Ford Ranger is not even sold in the US anymore and it looks badass. AND FORD IS AN AMERICAN CAR. Anyway, its not slated until 2016 anyway IF there isnt any issues with Lexus of NA

That is why the IS350 V6 is the most superior in the IS models
So are they doing anything to the IS350 for 2016?
Btw, I believe they would just eliminate the IS250 and keep the IS200t if the sales shows it, which I think it will unfortunately
258 pound feet of torque on the IS200t is so much when you look at the IS350 only having 277......
I would be sad if they boost the torque or horsepower on the IS350 for 2016.
I would think the IS200t can get 0-60 in the 6 seconds range and the mpg might go up to 28 for city because the CLA 250 does 26 city I would think that Lexus can do better.

There was a thread two or three weeks ago revealing more on the 2.0T coming to the IS. It should be for the 2016 model year. With nearly all other competitors currently offering a 2.0T, this WILL happen. Fuel economy is trumping all other things nowadays. But I have a feeling Lexus's version will manage to be a gem and model of smoothness not seen elsewhere (and the other 2.0t's are already pretty smooth). About the only hitch I see coming (and Lexus is good at this) is releasing this innovative and interesting new engine for 2016, then facelifting the IS for 2017, right when it's due for that. So once again, there will likely be another odd-duck year for the model.
