I'm SO SO sorry! I know this feeling all too well and it brings back bad memories. This happened to me exactly a year ago and unfortunately I never heard from the police again. Unless there was footage (as in your case), it was hard to track these guys down. What I can tell you is that earlier this year in the Howard Beach area, cops did catch some guys with stolen tires in their van. They had JUST stole them off of a car in the area and luckily someone was watching and called the police. If you Google "Howard Beach cops catch stolen rim thieves" (or something like that) you'll find the article I believe in the Queens Courier.
The article also stated that although they caught these individuals (about 4 of them I think), they are a SMALL part of a MUCH LARGER ring. So basically, we're all *****ed. My car is now kept secure in a garage with security and plenty of lighting (this happened where my bf used to live and we both moved since then). Also, I pretty much stopped posting my pics on IG because I just feel like you never know who is watching. Sad, right?
I suppose your car is on the street or in a driveway, whatever you do today GET IT TAKEN CARE OF TODAY. What they will do is come back and start to strip the car (I've seen it happen to others). I had to call the dealer and beg for some spare tires to get it on the tow truck just to deliver it to them so they could replace the tires. Send me a private message if you want to talk/more info. I will try to help/give advice as much as I can. Again I'm SO sorry. These guys are such D*CKS!!
