I'm having Opti Coat professionally installed this Saturday. If I remember, I'll take a pic and post it here. In my research, I honestly don't think I have come across a bad review or opinion of the product.

Opti-Coat certainly will not fade to a yellow...
Paint coatings are a fantastic choice for any car, new or used. They offer incredible protection and durability compared to traditional waxes and sealants and will make routine maintenance washes MUCH quicker and easier.
I am a professional detailer who specializes in paint correction and protection and work with these paint coatings on a regular basis. I am authorized installer for Opti-Coat Pro and other high end coatings.
I tend to prefer other coatings over OC most of the time due to the enhanced appearance, however if you are simply seeking maximum protection, OC is the way to go I suppose. Just beware, there have been many changes to the Optimum industry lately, one of which is that their consumer coating (Opti-Coat 2.0) has been discontinued and Opti-Coat is now only available through authorized professionals. They have a new consumer product called Gloss Coat that is not a permanent coating like Opti-Coat is. Just be sure you are working with an authorized professional who is certified to purchase and use Opti-Coat pro, otherwise you are not getting Opti-Coat.
If you were planning on installing a coating on your own, the prep work is extremely critical. The vehicle should be properly washed, decontaminated (iron removal, tar removal, clay bar), minimum of a light polish, the surface should then be cleansed with diluted isopropyl alcohol or a product like CarPro Eraser, and then the coating can be applied to the surface.
I have had 22ple VX1 Pro applied to my vehicle for about 2 years now and it still looks incredible.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me
(Also, I see that the OP is in Illinois... I am in Peoria, IL... if you are nearby I'd be happy to chat with you in person)
EDIT: Here is an article I wrote discussing some of the Benefits of a Paint Coating
