Default Way to make home screen start up screen on nav?

At each car startup, after the navigation loads, it eventually settles on the map screen. Would prefer my personally adjusted home screen (the home button nearby the mouse) to just automatically appear on starting the vehicle. Is there a way to do this?

I have been wondering this too, but I'm too lazy to try to find out in the manual at the moment. I think it's sort of annoying that you set a home screen and the car doesn't default to it upon starting.

It appears there is no way to change the default start up screen. Has anybody done this on their car?

I read the manual to the car and nav book, and the home screen page makes no reference on how to make it the default screen on vehicle start up.

Bump to see if anybody figures this out yet. Each time I shut off the car, the screen goes back to the full map navigation, regardless of what was on the screen prior to shut off.

In the menus, there is an option to select that keeps the same screen showing while the car is RUNNING, but turning this on or off does cause it to stick to the old original screen on start up. It is pretty shocking if there is not a way to do this, and we have to click the home button each start up.

Default Apparently there’s NO eliminating nav screen default

After searching/reading the regular nav manual I did an exhaustive search of the forum and found three posts stating that the nav screen default at startup can’t be eliminated with zero posts indicating anything to the contrary. So I guess I’ll just roll over and accept the 10-20 seconds of annoyance after every startup. Its a cost of doing business to have an otherwise great car.

Pretty sure there’s a setting to cause the screen to come up on the same screen being used at shutdown. I was annoyed that it always reverted to the home screen, and someone pointed out the setting to me. I’ll see if I can find that again.

Default Auto screen change

Thanks for the reply. The setting to which you’re referring, I think, is “Auto Screen Change” (ASC). I’ve set it to both “On” and “Off”, more times than I care to admit and it never worked. Not once. The NAV screen always came on upon startup even if fuel economy or another screen was the last screen up before shutdown - regardless of the ASC setting. But if you find a different setting that works, please let us all know.

Hmm… maybe I’m wrong, I don’t think I’ve tried shutting down while on the home screen since making the settings change. I’ll give it a whirl and let you know.

Ok, I was wrong. Shutdown on ‘home screen’, restart, nav screen comes up.
I never use the ‘home screen’, so I didn’t notice (half nav, half something else, just didn’t appeal to me).
