Discount tire has results for 265/35-18 and 265/35/19

That was my bad...i was thinking of 265/30/18 and got it mixed up with 265/35/19.

I think I had a long day that day lol! Definitely not on my A game.

Might be a dumb question..

So my current wheels are cast 20's, and they seem to bend easily... I was going to go down to 18's to hopefully avoid bending wheels, but I just feel the larger rims look better.

If I got forged 19's, would the fact that they are forged and that I'd have more sidewall lessen the chance of bending rims in the future??

Just curious, what are you running now...obviously 20’s?

I’ve seen more cracked rather than bent cast wheels. Forged would give you a better chance along with a higher aspect ratio sidewall would help.

20" Lumanari Riviera's, they were on the Lexus when we bought it. From the research I've done, they were a dealer option (or something like that). I don't know their width though, but the front tires are 245/30/20 and the rears are 275/30/20.

I just assumed they were cast because they seem to bend easily.

I was going to drop to 18's for more sidewall protection, but if can run 19's with more confidence than the 20's I currently have, I would do that.

The problem is that most people will run a 30 aspect ratio on 19’s. I assume that you can run a talller tire - but again probably a 35 or 40 aspect ratio at most. It’s gonna depend on the wheel width and offset too. Also instead of a staggered setup, you can run a squared setup.

I've been looking at replacing them with Aodhan DS02'S.. would it be better to go with 18's to minimize the risk of bending them?

Those wheels are not true forged wheels - they are also “rotary forged”....I hate that term. I haven’t seen a true forged wheel for less than $550 each.

There are plenty of people that run 19s with no trouble. However, what you’re experiencing is exactly why I choose to run a square 18” with a 245/35 aspect ratio setup.

I run 19” Stance wheels on my car with 225/35 and 255/30 tires.

They’re also rotary forged wheels so not as strong as a true forged but they’ve been going strong for 3+ years for the most part.

I did get a really tiny bend on the inside of one of them from hitting a massive pothole but it wasn’t bad enough to where I can feel anything while driving and it’s not visible. I also had to replace one of the wheels earlier this year because I ran over an axle on the freeway and bent one of the rears beyond repair.

Just wanted to share just incase it could help with your decision.

Nothing you can do about that...I doubt a forged wheel would have survived that either. I’ve heard - especially from some of the BMW guys that wheels are a wear item, just like tires and brakes. It’s not a matter of if, but when you’ll need to replace a bent rim or two. I’d like to say I don’t believe that, but I’ve seen some nice wheels -even forged- busted up lately. Lucky it didn’t bust your oil pan or wedge up in the suspension to really take you out!

Running the Niche M195 Methos Bronze with a 19*9 +38mm offset in the front and a 19*9.5 +38mm offset in the rear, very good fitment just wanting to drop the car but IDK if I should cause back is low with passengers. I also wanna go for a thicker tire in the back, rn its a 265/30/R19, wanna bump it up to a 40 to get some sidewall too

Just looking at the picture, it doesn’t look like you have much room to add the tire you want and lower it.
