Front: 19x8.5 et 32 on 235/35
Back: 19x9.5 et 38 on 265/30
Stock height as of now. Not sure I could drop it any with the rear offset only being 38. I don’t mind the look though, the bigger wheels take care of the wheel gap
Hey, I’m looking into getting some new wheels for my 2017 Lexus IS and I need some help in trying to figure out what the best wheel specs are so I can air out and tuck perfectly. I don’t want to rub or roll my fenders. I also don’t want camber when I’m on ride height but I’m welcome to the idea of having camber while aired out. I’m planning on staying with 18’s and I want to have about the same tire width as oem (225 F; 255 R) I’m also thinking of a staggered setup something like 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear. I need help figuring out the offset though. I’m thinking of getting vsxx’s so you have an idea. I’m attaching a picture so you get an idea in what I’m talking about. I want to get rid of the space between the wheel and the inside of the fender.

For the sizes available in the VS-XX, you could do Front: 18x8.5 +35 and Rear 18x9.5 +45 (these specs are basically plug and play...throw wheels and go up and down no problems)
Technically you could go a little lower with the offset, like +32 and +42, but you also have to work with what they have available.
I notice they also offer +28 and +39...that's pushing it a little without other Camber mods.
To give you a way to visualize it, since you have the F Sport wheels on, the top of the front wheel to fender gap would be reduced by approx. 16mm (with the +35 VS-XX) and the rear approx. 18mm (with the +45 VS-XX).
Keeping in mind there will still be a gap at the top, but you also have to consider the wheel needs to clear all the way around to the bottom of the fender and bumper.
Hello everyone,
AVID1 Av6's 18x9.5 +38 squared w/ 225/40/18 Michelin all seasons.
Took a long time to get these guys on, most places wouldn't install the tires on the rims due to tire stretch but I had the hookup. No rubbing and running on stock suspension. No spacers needed as well.

Congrats on the new wheels...looks good!
Unfortunately I would have to agree with the tire shops that turned you away...your hookup didn't really do you a favor, they just you and the other motorists at risk from a blowout or tire unseating. Definitely drive carefully and watch out for the potholes.
With those rim specs on stock suspension you could have fit 255/35/18 no problem...even if you lowered it after, it still wouldn't be an issue. There are a few members running 18x9.5 +38 with 255/35/18 lowered...on my rear I have 18x9.5 +38 265/35/18 lowered on RSR Downs and no issues. Too bad you didn't hit us up for tire sizes before you bought.

Thanks for the input! Yeah I definitely need to be careful while driving...might consider 255/35 in the future but so far loving the look!

Definitely do, cause if you hit a pothole now, the rim has no protection, so it could actually hit the road and get damaged...the tire might actually not take any damage at all in certain situations.

Appreciate the honesty and information, will definitely be careful! Thanks again
