How hard is it to steal the new IS25/350
I was watching a news report the other day and heard a car thief brag about how easy it is to steal a modern day car even with all the tech. Actually he stated all the technology makes today's cars easier to steal. I'm curious because awhile back some did try to steal my IS, posing as a repo guy, with a tow truck. I was lucky to have a watchful neighbor that day. Thoughts?

if its possible to steam your credit/debit card via some radio frequency device, then the same concept applies to cars. so yes, your car can be stolen with some reprogramming of the key fob.

The fingerprint sensor is more touch sensitive than biometric, it's really allowing you to just open and start-up the car if you have a Lexus keyfob, which is the actual info that stored on the vehicle.

My 2015 IS250 was taken from my driveway 5 days after I picked it up from the dealer.
I have both keys and the car was locked.
I still have no idea how they took it, but apparently its easier than we think.

That sucks! Sorry to hear that happened. I hope they find it or a least the insurance company will replace your vehicle. Mine is always in the garaged now, with 3 different locks on the inside.

I know what I'm about to say relates to an Audi, but I believe the same principle applies. My neighbor's Audi A4 was 'broken into' a couple months ago. The car was locked. She found it unlocked that morning and items missing. The police told her thieves drive through the neighborhood during the night, using a box that rolls through the same codes used by the key fobs. And when the lights on the car blink, voila, they know they have a winner. The police indicated that they believe the thieves slightly pushed the door closed to avoid slamming. Apparently 4 cars were hit in the nearby vicinity of my neighbor's, all in the same night. Neither my neighbor or I have garages.
