Just ordered mine yesterday and should arrive soon
After spending $30 to have a local exhaust shop delete my secondary cats, I liked the sound it made. However, I didn't like the look of it so I decided to spend the $$ for the Invidia midpipe ($515 shipped on ebay after making an offer), plus i'll get a true X-pipe versus the stock crossover pipe which really appears to be a bottleneck (it's that box right before the resonators that's approx. an 1" in height). Did you notice any increase in engine responsiveness? I noticed it in all RPM bands with the secondary cat delete, and it's not a placebo to justify my $30 (lol) modification. I'll post a video once installed, but it sounds similar to this video I found of an IS350 with just a resonated mid-pipe
Tanabe dynoed a 2gen IS350 with just a midpipe and got 10rwhp @ peak HP / 6rwtq @ peak TQ, with a gain of 20rwtq in area's below 4,000rpm, where it matters to me. However, there are many who claim it only results in a 1-2hp gain, but those who have compared dyno's already have had axlebacks. Like any combination modification, you cannot add the gains of each mod individually to get a resulting peak figure (example: lets say on a Camaro V8, you gain 15rwhp with an intake ALONE, and 20rwhp with an axle back ALONE, when combined, the gain will not result in a 35rwhp increase)

I was looking into getting the full catback when I save a little more but I am considering just getting the Invidia midpipe for now and then buy the rest of it when I get enough. Do you think it is worth it to get just the midpipe for now and then upgrade eventually? they gave me a really good offer on the midpipe alone so that's why I was asking. Also, do you have an intake installed and is it a 250/350?
