Default The perfect OEM wheel for the 3IS

The 19" non F-Sport RC350 wheels. The multi spoke design and 19" size is the perfect look for the IS. I will be adding these to mine.

Those would run you a premium (guessing here). I'm willing to bet you'd be able to get a set of forged wheels for roughly the same price and reduce rotating mass. I know the I-Forged wheels I was looking at where around 19-20 pounds a piece, so about 8-9 pounds less than OEM.

Doesn't seem like a lot but every pound of rotational mass is worth... say 2.5 pounds of chassis weight. Granted the ratio of rotational/chassis varies wildly on the web... from 1.5 to 10 to 1. I'm not a "smart" guy so I'm going with what sounds reasonable to me.. So all four wheels would be about the same as removing 80 to 90 pounds from your car. Pair that savings with a lighter tire (OEM's are 24-26 while ExtremeContact DWs are 21-23) you'd be looking at 110-120 pounds or so.

What's 120 pounds? Our curb weight is roughly 3600 lbs with 306 HP giving us around 11.76 HP/lbs. If we shed the 120 lbs. our P/W ratio drops to 11.37 HP/lbs. That's like picking up another 10 HP and looking nicer doing it. Came to that by the following... 3600 (Stock Weight) / 11.37 (New P/W Ratio) - 306 (OEM HP).

Disclaimer, I not some mech engineer or physics major... just ball parking for comparison purposes only... no "actual" HP gained by shedding weight lol.

Just my 2 cents... I've never bought a sporty car with the intentions of making it less sporty but I understand those that value aesthetics over performance and that's their right... USA USA USA.

Thanks, I appreciate your input, however this thread is about OEM wheels, not aftermarket.

Good point... and realized that after I typed it up lol. But after doing all that work... I was in too deep.

The Fsports are close enough to OEM... right??

Anyways they weigh in at 21.3 pounds... http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2014/2012.html

I totally agree. Best looking OEM wheels by Lexus. Both are great.

Too bad they are pricey as heck.
