Did you use a coupler? Or just the 3 wires on that specific cord? Having issues with my HDMI-AV input... Returned my cables I already bought and bought these above. Hoping it works.

I used a coupler on the test I did last night.

No coupler needed. You just need the right 3.5mm jack, and your HDMI cable to connect to whatever you plan to use.

Are you getting any audio or video? Have you swapped the a/v plugs around to see if that works?

Yes just blurred lines. See picture. Getting bad feedback (audio) when the white is in the white hole, tried every single combination, then switched from PAL to NTSC, and again tried every single combination. Getting nothing close to what's on my phone, just blurred lines like the picture. I'm wondering if the HDMI to Micro USB the same thing, Fidgety, where I'll have to replace a few of them to find the right one? I got this one on Amazon....

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I just bought the cords you posted above, the one you said worked in 1 try.

Ok cool. I'd say that 3.5mm cord is the most important item that needs to work properly before adding additional components. The "wiring" of the cable has to be correct in order for it to work.

If you look at the picture below, from the cord I got, video sits on the sleeve which I believe is the way the car is looking for.

I came across this: Navigation/Video Unlock/Bypass for Lexus, Model ULM-61

Not sure if anyone on here has tried it.

So the HDMI to AV adapter came today and here are the findings.

I hooked up the unit and was able to see iPhone mirrored to the screen.

The picture quality was not that great and the audio had a buzz on the line. I took quite some time to compare all these boxes but I think the reality is that whether $6 or $26 I think they are all the same which is not that great.

So what I ended up doing was going to Radio Shack and picking up the lovely overpriced $40 no external power needed adapter. All I can say is that it is fantastic!

Here are some comparison shots below.

CINK HDMI BOX

You can see the lines in the shot

RADIO SHACK ADAPTER

Nice rich black

Default Cink HDMI to AV Box

Also wanted to show shots of the PAL vs NTSC.

PAL had a richer black screen but part of the picture was off the screen.

Here is a Youtube shot.

Overall the unit worked but I prefer something a little richer and crisper and the added perk of no external power needed on the Radio Shack cord is a great plus.

Here are the components I decided to try:

StarTech.com 0.3m 1ft Short High Speed HDMI Cable

Cingk 1080p HDMI to RCA CVBS AV Composite Converter

Zune A/V Output Cable

Total cost was under $40. I will post the outcome after I get the products.
My revised recommendations: ~ $60

$9 StarTech.com 0.3m 1ft Short High Speed HDMI Cable

$40 RadioShack HDMI-to-Composite Converter (Highly Recommended)

$7 Zune A/V Output Cable

On second note, I found this from the initial group buy launched by the vendor. Looks like there are people out there using it.

Looks like I might be looking at this lower cost option.

ULM-81
