Can i use my 2011 IS250 winter tire on my 2015 IS250?
Hi all,
I just ended my old lease 2011 IS250 and got a new 2015 IS250 F sport AWD, and i have a set of lightly used (2 years) winter tire (22/45R17) left be hide. I noticed the tire size on the new model is different from the old model, i am just wondering is it safe to put my old winter tire on the new car? will it damage the new car?
Thanks in advance

Congrats on your new IS. Yes you can mount those 225/45/17 winters since the overall tire diameter is equivalent to the 18in stock tires, but you'll need to buy 17in steelie (cheapest) rims with a 5x114.3 pattern if the tires are not mounted on wheels. Only "negative” with these tires is the visual of the rear tire will look skinny compared to the 255/35 stock 18in tires.

However, you may get slight vibration because the tires were on a different car. But since you mentioned the tires were lightly used, it doesn't hurt to try on the new IS.
Just as CorradoMR2 said, the 17" would look a bit small and skinny especially the rear ones.

Not sure, but I think when you go to a AWD car, steelies are not ideal, and you should use alloy wheels. Others can chime in here, but my understanding is the added torque from the AWD system requires alloy.
