Actually i wash 2 bucket technique. Use da polisher with meguiars 105, 205, and finish with mazerna sealant. I am very meticulous in everything i do. I also am an engineer by trade and would never purposely design something that is meant to fail with normal use like wiping a screen. It's a poor design and you can sit here and argue with me but it's a fact.

As an engineer, you should know that a well thought out design is one that is thought out for failures. Everything should have a MTBF analysis, and the coating has a very short MTBF. Consideration of the customers intended use and probable applications should always be taken.
With that in mind, No one is perfect. Ive made designs where after completion, i thought "crap, that was dumb of me. I shouldn't have done that. " and would attempt to have it fixed on the next revision, or if possible, issue a service bulletin to repair.
Obviously, not all repairs make financial sense because it might not be a safety of flight(I'm in aerospace) issue and is deemed not necessary. So myself and users would be forced to live with it.
This coating would definitely fall into that catgory of poor designs that will never get fixed because it isn't a safety issue.

Its an easy and honest mistake to do. No need to be a jerk. And honestly lexus shouldn't put fragile coatings on something that would be wiped down everytime someone cleans their car.
And who the hell would research on how to clean a plastic lens? That's ludicrous. Maybe i should research how to dust my laptop to make sure i dont fry my battery.
