Default CPO Advice Needed

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 2014 IS CPO car from a Lexus dealership.

After purchasing the vehicle (owned for about 2 weeks), I noticed that the windshield was not the factory Lexus OEM windshield. The weather strip at the top is not properly seated during the installation.

I was not informed for any windshield replacement when I bought the car.

I brought the car to a Lexus Service Department, but was denied a warranty replacement because it was not an OEM windshield. The dealer I purchased the car from is 2 hours away.

Is there anything I can tell corporate that will assist me in getting the weather strip/ windshield fixed under warranty?

Thank you for any advice you may provide.

I'd phone the dealer and ask to speak to the GM, if they're uncooperative I would then make my next phone call to Lexus US. They should have notified you if they had replaced the windshield IMO.

Thanks Hermes. I called Lexus US and they have assigned it to a case manager. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Lexus should step forward and cover it. CPO is CPO, in the condition it was in when you bought it. No excuses.
However, I've witnessed that your CPO mileage may vary from one dealership to another. It would be in your best interest to work with the dealership where you purchased the car.

Hope things work out.

Thought I'd give an update, totally forgot I said I would. The dealer took care of it and got the weather trim replaced.
