For performance? Stock is a sealed cold air intake. Hard to beat.

For sound? Stock has a noise maker on it factory tuned for a nice sound. Hard to beat.

Because you want to throw away money and have always wanted a bit more silicates to enter your engine? Any one will do. (i kid...but not really)

Interesting. I always thought the K&N gained throttle response and a small gain of power and fuel economy.

A gauze/cotton style filter can flow a little more than paper. It also lets more dirt/silicates in the engine. The 1hp difference would give you zero noticeable power gain. People put in a panel filter and may report things like, "I felt it accelerate better." or "Throttle response was definitely improved." In reality, if you took the car to the track and did acceleration testing there would be zero difference. The power of placebo is real.

You can get very real benefits using a larger and open totally free flowing intake on a car that you put an aftermarket supercharger on where it is sucking the heck out of more intake air than the OEM intake tract was designed for but our stock intake tract flows what is is designed to flow very well.

I figured it wouldn't be very noticeable. Just a little louder.

We had a K&N in our 11' tundra and we just got a 14' tundra without. The 11' seemed to have a little better throttle response.

No real change in power or fuel economy of course.

The injen intake claims 19.1 hp and 17torque gain.

Unfortunately the people who have independently dynod it showed more losses than gains.

Stock intake is already cold.

I prefer to hear the exhaust instead of the intake.
