Tires?
So I purchased some Michelin A/S 3 for my 15 IS and for some reason, they didn't grip the road as my old Pilot Super Sports. Customer service for Michelin said they will swap them out for any Michelin or BF Goodrich any size. So front Im keeping them the same unless y'all have positive feedback in going wider, 225/40/18 and the rear I'm going with 265/35/18.
So I have several choices:
Pilot Super Sports
Pilot A/S 3 (wider)
BF Goodrich g-force SportComp-2
BF Goodrich g-force Rival
What would y'all go with?

I had the same issue, and I actually returned the tires and bought continental DW's. I like the DW's a lot better. with the tires you listed I would go with the PSS. I have no history with BF Goodrich so I cant say how they are.
Best of luck

- The Pilot Super Sports would be your best choice for overall grip and tire longevity.
- AS3s are a good choice if you are forced to use all-season tires for inclement weather conditions.
- G-Force SportComp2 tires are a more budget friendly performance tire but since you're able to get a replacement set for free, I wouldn't choose this option.
- G-Force Rival tires are a good choice as competition/track tires but if tread wear is a concern for you (especially if this is your daily driver), I would go for the slightly less grippy PSS tires instead.

Great choice. I had the Pilot Super Sports on my BMW. Best performing tire I ever experienced - phenomenal wet and dry grip, excellent steering feel and good ride quality. Tire life and noise was not as good as the Continental Sport Contact but the performance trade off was more than worth it.

I'm just curious as to why you would think AS3s would be just as grippy as the PSS? comparing an all season tire to a high performance summer tire is like comparing a porsche boxster to a gt3 rs.. they were made under different circumstances for different purposes, so one would trump the other based on the circumstance but with grip PSS < AS3s

An all season is a great "compromise" compound for trying to make due in light snow, heavy rain, and nice summer days but it cant do any one of them at its best compared to a dedicated tire for that purpose.
The PSS is a dedicated summer performance tire. It will handle sublimely on clear roads. It will handle light rain. It will get less impressive the heavier the rain and it will try and kill you in the snow.
