I know there's a few threads re: this topic, but couldn't find anybody modding their stock front Lexus badge. I bought the Sewell badges (in chrome, not black pearl) but my shop is talking me into putting a gunsmoke Laminix film over the stock Lexus badge. It's easier, more durable, less expensive, etc but I don't want it looking cheesy. The other issue is my shop is acting like turning the new badge black chrome will be difficult. They prefer to wrap before paint but it's too small to wrap.
For the rear Lexus badge, they want to just plastidip it. Once again, I don't want this thing looking Micky Mouse. Any thoughts?
The LaminX works great for the "flat" type badge that comes stock on the front grill. But with the new badge and back you purchased, it is quite difficult to get the material to wrap around the corners and get it to look right.
I purchased a front and rear badge and ended up giving it to my body shop guy, who tinted them for me. He had to lightly scuff the badges and then just tinted them with the same process he does for tinting tail lights.
I ended up sticking with the stock emblem & not using the 2 piece set I initially posted pics of. I'm happy the way it turned out but they did plastidip on the rear and it's poor quality plus I don't like the finish. Gonna do something like yours tai3is. Was it hard to wrap such a small emblem with tint?
