They were painted by a shop. I thought about painting them myself, but I don't really have a large enough space to paint larger parts such as these. Also, the body shop where I just had some unrelated body repairs done offered to paint both parts for free as a good faith gesture. There were unexpected delays in completing the repairs on my car, and after I picked it up I noticed one of the techs accidentally put a minor curb rash on one of my wheels. The shop had a wheel specialist repair the curb rash and they painted the diffuser and front splitter for free!

How are these diffusers installed? I believe they require screws and 3M tape?

I'm not sure about leo877's, but the diffuser I posted pictures of is the Stillen painted gloss black. It comes with double-sided 3M automotive tape pre-installed and 5-7 self-tapping screws. I haven't installed it yet, but I imagine it's similar to their front splitter, which was really easy to install. They have an install video for the diffuser:

I used 4 screws just like OEM to secure it, 2 at both ends and 2 behind rear deflectors. Along with 3M double sided tape all around just like what Stillen did. There is small gap near the reflector but not noticeable few feet away. Quad tip is next
