Like everyone says... Premium or nothing... Unless you're stranded and have only Regular gas...
P.S. If you had to ask about which gas to use, then I'm sorry to say; Sir... you've bought the wrong car for your lifestyle.

91 octane or bust i got so used to using 91 octane on mine and my wifes car that i started using 91 on my tundra as well. I figure its not hurting anything why not. I hardly ever use the truck so i hardly ever fuel it up. Im pretty good at following directions and it says 91 octane on the gas cap

I'm going to be stronger than everyone else. Why? Because I sell these cars and I am sick of people asking can they use regular.
Why buy a premium car then use regular gas? There are so many cars out there that suit your needs and your budget. Go get one now!. Trade in your Lexus right now. You don't deserve it. Don't need it.

If you did use a lower octane I would recommend using an octane booster to meet at minimum 91 octane (even though I believe the car should have 93). That's your best course of action or just keep paying for the high octane like the manual asks.
One good this is that these (current) cars are naturally aspirated (NA) so your chances of damaging your engine with lower octane will be much lower than putting 87 octane in an Evo or WRX lmao.
Purchasing the "Octane booster" is expensive.. I think like $6-$12 buckeroos per bottle, depending on the brand... filling up with Super 92/93 gas adds about $3-$4bucks to the tank full.. so it's cheaper on the wallet period, especially in the long run with the "potential" damage to the engine and the lower MPG that you'll most likely get from the 87 gas is break-even.

Well, that would make a person think twice about buying a used Lexus now lol.

I agree with you. I only considered an octane booster if someone is on a long trip and needed to gas up in a small town that doesn't have premium gas. It would just be a temporary fix to protect against knock until a proper gas station was reached.
