DIY: Oil Change 2014+ IS350 w/ pics

For the guys who used rhino ramps, can you specify which brand worked?
I currently have the one from advance auto parts

I was wondering if anyone used these because it looks like it would scrap on them.
Also, Does anyone know the difference in the part for the oil filter ending in part # 3 and #5?

Still need a filter wrench to remove the housing.

Just bought my 3is and was looking into doing the oil changes myself. I live in Louisiana and I see that it recommends using 0w-20. Wouldn't I be better off with a 5w-30 or 10w-30 instead since temperatures are usually hotter down here?

5w30 used to be the recommended oil for the is350 they changed it for improved gas mileage. Use 5w30 it won't hurt the car at all.

The o-ring (not crush washer) comes as part of most oil filter kits, don't know about the Lexus OEM one however.

They are a dollar a piece buy a bunch.
Amateur tip. That F style wrench is vital and so is an impact wrench or breaker bar. That filter housing is torqued to 25nm before life, dirt, salt, sand and bad xwife memories ceases it on there. Unless you're drunken chimp strong that thing is hard to get off!

Just finished this. It's a bonehead simple oil change and mess free. 6.6 quarts w/ the filter replaced for RWD. make sure you have something to dislodge the drain plug O-ring from the oil pan. i used a plastic trim removal tool.
Having the Toyota oil filter special service tool really helps to open the filter. Also when you crack open the oil filter, make sure you have a pan under it and open slowly. The oil will slowly drip straight down into the pan. This is unlike my RX where when I crack open the filter oil just spills all over the place.
By the way, my 14 RWD does not look like the image in post 43 so don't be surprised. The AWD and RWD are models are slightly different but the point is still the same.
