Default Kinda disappointing.

Hey there, I am a 2009 BMW 135i owner. My co worker just picked up a brand new 2015 IS350 F-Sport. I think it is a beautiful car.

The reason I am here is because I thought they were fast? I have a little story.

Some guy in a all black 2014 IS350 (the new one) was driving all fast behind me, he swerves next to me and then in front of me. I am like Oh really? So then I downshift and then get up on his *** (pretty quick) then easily swerve around him and just continue to pull away.

I know he was trying because I see him in my rear view mirror swerving around other cars to catch up to me. We raced again from a stop, again I pull (very easily) almost until I can barely see him in my mirror, than I make a right hand turn and he does a ricer fly-by.

Safe to say I am pretty disappointing. I thought his brand new 2014 would surly take my 09 with 50k miles on it. But I do have a Cobb Access port Stage 1 "conservative" daily drive tune (not aggressive)
but otherwise 100% stock with the ****ty "run flat" tires.

The 1er -

Please tell me the F-Sport is faster? My co worker just paid like 55 grand for his while my bimmer was like 18k.... You can almost get an M4 or S4 for that 50+ grand.

I can only imagine the IS350 would lose even worse on a track due to it being heavier and longer and less power.

I saw a '93 Supra Turbo listed for 13k. I bet it can take your 18k car.

Hopefully you understand 0-60 is just one characteristic of many that make a great car like the IS a great car. But if speed is your main focus, sorry you will remain disappointed as the IS 350 is 1 sec slower than your car or the pricier S4 and 335.

cool story bro... the stage 1 flash on that car can gain 40-50 hp... stock the bmw claims 300hp. you're car is lighter... you dont know exactly what the other guy was doing on the street, take it to the track if you want a real comparison. that way you can beat him again then gloat by about how much you won.. ??

didn't seem like 1 sec. I beat him pretty bad, several bus lengths it seemed, unless he just gave up after a few car lengths.

wow, good results. I based that number I came up with on this guys results: "baseline pull (dynojet) 258hp and 265tq. Flashed the Cobb stage 1 aggressive map and made 305hp and 362tq."

no matter if you gained 50 or 100hp with the flash .. or left it stock, in any case I would be surprised if you didn't pull away a bit.

I expected a tiny bit, but not as much as I did. Maybe he had his A/C on?

I am unsure which stage this one is, but it also has downpipes

Stage 1

Some tuners seem to have better power gains with the "JB4" tunes.

Possibly, but against its competitors like the 335, it's king on the track.

335i and 135i have the same motor, the 135i is only like 200 pounds lighter than the 335i.

out of genuine curiosity, did you join this form of Lexus enthusiasts just to post pics of your car and ask why its so much faster than the lexus? if you only needed to know about how they compare hp vs hp, 1/4 times, thats posted all over the interwebs. Just wondering where you are coming from is all.

Bryce, we don't suffer trolls here. If you want to chat about Lexus, welcome.
