Out of curiosity does the insurance cover your new tires if you swap out the Bridgestone Turanza tires or is it oem product coverage only? I'm curious because a lot of ppl seem to swap out their own tires right away and seem to have the tire insurance.

When the tires are done I will be replacing with Continental DWS-06, up sized one size to 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. (235's are currently available, 265's will be in August).

I have installed DWS's or DWS-06's on an Audi A7 and an S4, a Subaru Impreza, and an Acura TL, all within the last year, they work awesome and have 500-560 tread wear.

Sorry for the hijack!
Nice! I wanted to do the same size upgrade (235s in front and 265s in rear) but they weren't immediately available and I needed a new tire. If you have ever seen an 3IS with the donut tire on...it's not pretty lmao!

If I'm understanding your question correctly, it's because people who buy new tire are either 1.) buying extra tire protection to cover un-repairable tires, or 2.) the tire manufacture has an agreement that they will cover the tire for a certain amount of year(s) or xx/32nds of the tire if the tire is repairable.

If you were asking about Lexus covering a repair I believe they will fix your tire without a fee if the tire is repairable. I know they would have done that with the OEM tires but for aftermarket I am not too sure. Discount tires will repair most tires for free even if you didn't buy the tire from them. I usually just leave a tip.

If you are talking about the tire & wheel protection, it seems they only replace OEM to OEM. They do not cover aftermarket wheels and tires.

The only time they do is if the aftermarket wheels were dealer installed factory option.

I've had 3 tires and busted 2 wheels so the plan has more than paid for itself.
