Thanks dojoman. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks BossHu. My first thought at the time was maybe that the battery was having issues. Mine's only 1.5 years old but I have read in this forum of others having premature battery drain issues.

Will the dealer be able to diagnose the battery under warranty?

Sure, they'll just test the battery out. I can't recall how long the battery's warranty is. That's a consumable like tires.

Battery is a tricky subject. Too many factors in play. Weather, drain, usage etc...

Personal experience, on my 2IS350, I swapped the battery out at approx 36,000. Never drained it. At that time I was averaging 20k miles a year. I was a high mileage driver back then. So it lasted just around 1.5 years.

Its a $120-$200 battery (last I checked Autozone) for the 3IS. Most will hold a 3-5 year warranty.

My best advice would have the dealer check it. If they don't know whats going on or say everything is normal. Then swap the battery if it continues to happen.

If you try to shift too fast while hitting the ignition it'll turn off as well.

It looks like the ignition is related to battery. Mine died today for no reason, I didn't leave any lights on by accident.
