How Do You get Text Messages to Appear on Nav Screen
#19
I already answered it on your other post but...make sure your phone is connect to the car through Bluetooth. Then hold the off-hook button on the steering wheel for a few seconds to activate it. You'll here the Siri double beep and a microphone icon displayed on the screen.

Yes I saw it but that doesn't work for me, I hold the button down and it beeps but nothing happens? The only way I can get the microphone to come up on the screen is to activate Siri from my phone and I can't figure out why?

Do you have Access When Locked set to on in your Siri settings?

it can display other languages using the roman alphabet. i've had the system show messages in catalan and spanish.

Siri itself is handsfree now to activate. You just say "Hey Siri" and it prompts it to start. Are you still on an old phone that doesn't have that feature yet?

Ms.
This is not true. Go to your Bluetooth settings. Click on Lexus. Turn on notifications. You may need to reconnect/reset.

I have an android. Was playing around with it, and I think there's an option to turn it on or off in the navi. It only works with normal text, not with fb messenger, or whatsapp. I don't use normal text very often so I haven't noticed it being annoying, but it's nice when I do get normal texts

Once you are connected via bluetooth. Go to menu and select phone. Then look at the top right corner below the (icon to go to previous page) and you should see a little envelope. Thats your messages. Sorry if you all have already figured this out.

I have Australian Spec F Sport and Galaxy S6 Edge. Once the phone is connected via Bluetooth if a SMS comes through, a notification comes on the NAV screen indicating to either "Read" or "Ignore" the SMS.
Whist driving this feature used to get disabled however the system still states a SMS has arrived but you can't read it or make the SMS be read out.
To combat this I purchased a by-pass module which now both reads out the SMS plus it also gives you a chance to read it for yourself.
In terms of configuration to get the SMS to show up on the screen, nothing was required. It simply worked.
