Question Nuluxe seat - blotchiness

Hey all:

A detailer applied leather protectant on my seats in my Lexus IS 350 fsport. Can't recall the brand of protectant, but it has a matte finish and supposed to last 4 months.

Now the seats look 'blotchy' with white spots/streaks on the seats. Similar to a deodorant stain on a black shirt.

I'm concerned that the white blotches may not ever come out.

Question:

- can leather protectant "permanantly" stain nuluxe??
- should I rush to remove the protectant?

Thanks all

My guess is your detailer sprayed the seats directly instead of spraying the cloth that he was wiping them down with.

Re-clean and recondition thoroughly and after few hits and some time it should go away. You could also try order some product from www.leatherique.com (its for leather yes but I heard it works on nuluxe) - lots of guys love this product.

Good luck

Question

Awsome. Thanks Kov.

I tried wiping it down with a damp microfibre (4 times). But the blotches are still there.

Is this normal? Will the blotches of protectant eventually fade over time?

Thnx

Eventually the uneven look wears out as the nuluxe absorbs the product, loses gloss, and begins to dry out again.

Don't be afraid to use a different product and apply it again, just make sure you do your research on best product for 'nuluxe' finishes and give it a shot.

i got some white faded spots on my red nuluxe. i believe they are from my son kicking the seats when hes in the backseat. i seems like the red nuluxe got scraped off or something doubt theres anything i could do.

this nuluxe material seems super sensitive. dont think it would happen with leather.

Sorry to hear that. But the blotchiness on my seats is due to the liquid protectant used, it's not due to any kind of impact or scuffing.

Where you able to get it out? I wiped it with mild soap and it goes away for a little bit but comes back.

I wasnt able to get it out, but it seems to be fading on its own.

I think soap and water will make your seats look chalky, right?
