Just found these articles from last year and unfortunately they do not apply to the regular IS but they do indicate the possibility of DCT's in future F models.

definitely want an is200t with manual. Why? because the 200t will probably have a auto transmission similar to the is250 and that is a fragile transmission and once you mod that 200t to 300hp+ there will be problems... the is250's MT even with its noisiness has a strong pickup truck tranny that has been proven to take 400+hp

YES. Never driven a Toyota/Lexus manual, but right now the only manual options in this segment are BMW 3-series and Audi A4, which will not offer the manual for 2017MY.
I don't care what the marketing people say about why automatic/DCT trans are better, I actually like rowing my own gears. I like driving. Let me make the decision myself.
