didjaknow?: Remote start via Key Fob
#16
Thanks for this! I just tested it out and it works. I will use this more often because I hate the delay when using the app. Sometimes when using the app the request will fail and not go through.
And for everyone complaining about the car shutting off, it's a safety feature. And it's not exclusive to Lexus. Ford has it. Suburu has it. Toyota has it. Most car's OEM remote start will be like that.

I got this working on my 2014 but had an aftermarket module put in. I live in Canada and only use it in the winter to warm up my car while I'm in my office or at home leaving in the morning. I don't have the option to do it via the app though

I'm looking for a solution for my 2014 IS. Can share any information on the module you had installed? Manufacture / model. Does it work with OEM key fob? I'd rather not carry an extra keyfob around.

This does not work for MY14 IS's unless you have RES installed at the dealer.
The key fob start is only standard with MY15 with an active enform remote subscription. After the subscription runs out, the key fob will not be able to remotely start the car.
Any car with Enform Remote will be able to do this! (2015 LS, GS, IS, RC, ES (nav only), NX (nav only))

I've just tested this on my 2015 IS250 F Sport, 2 lock-presses and long-press on the 3rd lock. I still have an active Enform Remote subscription, expires (April 2016) It's definitely faster than the Enform app on iOS but if you're within a couple feet of your vehicle.
I usually use the remote start feature from my iPhone to start my car and have the AC running during summer while I pack up from work and walk to my car.

Here's a solution for MY14. I had this installed and it's working great with the factory key fob, doesn't need a subscription, and cost much less than the dealer RES.

My statement is true for factory installed Enform Remote, and has nothing to do with an aftermarket solution.
If you do not get an aftermarket solution, the key fob auto-start will end when the Enform remote subscription ends.
