Why would they replace the trunk lid and what new car dealer would do this?

All of the major body panels of the vehicle have VIN stamps or stickers in them. Swapping them would mean that you now have 2 basically new car with replaced panels, which drives the value of them down significantly. It would be much easier to come up with a new car for him, take his "old" car (which is low miles), certify it and then resell it. They will take minimal hit and the dealer probably will end up turning a profit out of this situation. Win/Win for all involved.

I bought my RC-F @ Santa Monica Lexus, outstanding experience with the purchase, can't comment on the service department yet, however they are way to far for me to go for service.


Longo is right near my work, I am glad I saw this thread, if their people are that crappy over a new car add-on, I don't think I want to experience what they are like for the every 5,000 required service.


guess I will have to hump it to Cerritos Lexus, luckily they are down the street from my kids school so it's not inconvenient, except for picking up after service as they are 30 miles from my office.
