Maintenance required light came on....safe to drive?

Default Maintenance required light came on....safe to drive?

my 2015 is 350 F sport is due for its 5000 mile maintenance. My appointment isnt for a few days however. The "maintenance required" light now stays on, so I was wondering if its safe to continue driving the car? MIleage is at 5125. Thanks guys

yes its okay to drive the car and you might get this message every 5000 miles !! you can turn it of if you follow these steps :

1- lights off
2- press brake padel 4 times
3- lights on
4- press brake padel 4 times
5- lights off
6- press brake padel 4 times
7- lights on
8- press brake padel 4 times
9- lights off
10 press brake padel 4 times

You can drive slightly over the 5000 mark, but try your best to drive as less as possible. Don't do hard accelerations and such. Drive like a granny till you get your car serviced. You should be fine if you follow this.

5k maintenance has no oil change and only inspect... inspect...inspect.
So you should be fine, but since the 5k and 10k is free anyways, you should take it in for them to do those "inspections".

If only they provided some kind of documentation or reference for owners to find out what the dash lights mean and how to handle them....

Or you can just go to gauge cluster setting and reset it there.

This, its just a visual inspection, rotation of tires, and I think topping off fluids. Its 100% safe to drive. You should do your 10k though, as they change the oil during that maintenance.

No need to "drive less" as one of the posters above mentioned.

I know right, the huge binder in the glove box is so useless, taking up all that space!

5k maintenance is nothing to worry about even if you miss it, as mentioned above. Also it's easy to turn off the light through the menu, don't do the peddle dance.
