Hello! I am new to the forum and to the Lexus world. I am looking to mod the car (not too much). I don't know how compatible this new IS200t is with the '14-'15 250's.
I am looking into bags (or maybe coilovers / springs), roof / rear spoiler & lip for the front, maybe engine mods.
Could anyone please guide me in the right direction as to where can I go to buy parts (preferably not break the bank, although I know I'm going to have to)?
Since it just came out engine parts aren't going to be available for a while. With a turbo car usually even something as simple as an intake needs tuning done as well and tuning on the new IS is not an easy task since the ecu is encrypted. Not sure about coilovers or springs but there seems to be subtle differences from model to model even from rwd to awd, so it's best to wait for 200t specific parts. For lips and spoilers, whatever fits the 250/350 should fit the 200t, same body.
Rex2Lex: Yeah! I figured since the car being too new, I was going to have a hard time finding stuff for it. I'll see what I can find for the '14-'15 IS's that'll be the same for my car.

Hopefully it won't be long. In my experience import aftermarket companies love turbo cars and jump all over them with parts when they come out. You would think suspension stuff would be the same as the 250, maybe email RS-R or Swift and see what they say.
the chasis didn't change, just the motor. so any aftermarket mod (non-motor) that's already out should/will work on the 200t; to include exhausts.
But isn't the engine in the 200t lighter than the 250, so wondering if spring rates will need to be adjusted. I notice on the RS-R springs that the spring rates are different from rwd to awd. What's needed for correct handling and correct drop might be different from 250 to 200t due to the weight difference. Idk just guessing.

The IS200t is now as heavy as the IS350 which means the 2.5L was actually lighter than the 2L with turbo. Funny.

Wow, I didn't know that. I just looked on the Lexus website, the 200t is only 154 lbs lighter than the 350 awd, with 65 less HP. No wonder it's a 6.9 second 0-60 car.
