IS300H F-SPORT pro/con after 2500km
Hi Folks
Drove 2500km in my new IS Hybrid and thought to share some of my experiences.
GOOD
engine/drivetrain. smooth, diesel like pullingpower, silent cruiser.
buildquality - soooo much better than BMW ( previous car)
styling inside outside. just beautiful. the best around.
chassis. wonderfully balanced even with those batteries.
COULD BE BETTER
Mark Levinson. big disappointment flat sound and at low soundlevel just the same as cheapo radio. The ML in my IS250 was way better inspite of only having 350w and this one has 850.
mouse-controller. does not really work. I-drive in BMW far superior.
Satnav system. i have the most expensive version but it really is crap. user-unfriendly and sometimes sends me to the strangest roads or lets me pull off a highway only to tell me to enter again, very frustrating. The graphics look like 1995. HOW did this system end up in ANY Lexus??
the germans are lightyears ahead in this.
engine/drivetrain vibrations. the system constantly switches from petrol to battery or together or only patrol or battery or.. this is an ongoing process and there are vibrations noticable when the engine comes in, it does bring some unrest in a quiet cabin.
overall i love the car, love looking at it love driving it. Not perfect, but with loads of character.
will post some experiences on hybrid driving later.
drive tastefully!!

yep. all the tech stuff in the center console of this car really detracts from an otherwise awesome vehicle. The NAV is completely useless. I only use it to look at the map if i'm driving, never actually entering in a destination.

back up camera
yes ive got a back up camera the standard lexus one and it works just perfect. my bmw 320 had one but that was only looking straight so not around the corner which made it useless.
the lexus lense is not flat but round so you get more or less a 180 degrees view, you see what is next to the car also. the park assist lines are very accurate and i always use the system when backing up dont even use my mirrors. 100% faith, supersystem!!
