Fuel economy right now
Just an inquiry on how your fuel economy has been recently..
I've had my 15 3is 250 AWD for about 2 months and love it!
Coming from a scion this car is a million times better
I was averaging 15-18 mpg with close to none time spent on a highway (and some spirited driving breaking in a new car!)
This weekend I took a trip out to the Hamptons.. A mostly straight ride at sea level across Long Island and had it in Eco mode averaging 70 mph
My average mpg was 30.5! I was expecting 25-27 so safe to say I was thoroughly pleased
What have you guys been averaging and what kind of driving do you do mainly?

You got 30.5 mpg on a mostly highway trip? Sounds about right. I wonder what you get around town???
In my 2015 IS 350 I get about 17.6 mpg in 80% city / 20% highway miles and I drive it pretty gently though. Not stellar mpg's by any means. In fact, it's significantly below what Lexus advertised.

My car is mainly used to get to the train station mon-Friday, roughly 3 miles each way, and then besides that it's mainly for running local errands so majority of driving is city.. I like having it in sport with manual shifting so that's why I was averaging 15-17 mpg considering how rarely I'm on highway

Ahh, makes since. I misread a bit your 4th sentence. Thought you were referring to your Scion's mpg's.
I'm surprised how little real-world difference in mpg's there is between the 2.5 and 3.5 liter engine that people have reports in various threads in this forum.
And I frankly suspect that Lexus may eventually find themselves in a class action lawsuit related to mis-advertised mpg's. That is, if enough owners step up.

When I first got the car, it was break-in period and I took it on a road-trip (lots of highway). Average mpg was about 23-24. It was the best mpg I've ever got with this car. I have a 2015 IS350 AWD F-Sport since August (so 3 months). After that, I average about 15-17mpg because it is mostly city driving.

I have it as mpg after refuel and every time I refuel, for the first drive either back home or on my way to class, it'll go from between 24-27 mpg in the city.. and after that it'd go down to it's usual 16-18 mpg. I didn't think I'd get such bad mpg when I first got my car two months ago.. I still love my car tho hahaha

However, for what it's worth, my AWD 350 (EPA 19/26) gets almost spot on the EPA estimates. I get around 19-20 in town and 24-26 on the highway.

On my previous 2014 IS350, I drove to NJ, filled up, all highway trip to the Poconos and filled up again in NJ on the way back to NY, calculated 29.5 MPG. This was about 95% highway. But normally i get about 22 mpg with 60% highway regularly.

This is exactly what I'm getting as well. 18-19 on a regular basis driving in town and highway is ~25mpg (350 AWD). I don't do a ton of highway driving so possibly that number could be ever higher.

20mpg with my 350 AWD and I do mostly highway with maybe 30% city driving. I drive it in eco mode most of the time so yea the fuel economy is pretty ****ty but I still love her.
