Default Best Mods for New IS300 ?

Sup. Have had about 4 IS's throughout its lifetime. Just had a 14IS350 F sport that I let my wife use as a commuter car. The lease was up and snagged a new IS300 F sport for an insane deal. Of course I can tell the power difference asap.

Since I haven't modded these cars like my others - I'm a little lost on where to start looking for parts.

Looking for an intake -price doesn't matter and probably some spacers now until the spring.

Any input would be great. Thanks.

IS350 ECU Same powertrain so there has to be a way to let those other horses loose!

How about the tuners that plug and play into the OBD port. They say they can free up HP, torque and MPG. Maybe too good to be true, but they're legit companies so something has to be legit.

Be wary of tuners. So far nothing in terms of IS tuning has been confirmed. Everything's been rumours so far with no definitive proof. Also, as far as I know, nobody's successfully flashed an IS300 to be an IS350 yet.

What's the big picture behind retuning the computer? If the Lexus engineers wanted to increase MPG/HP/TQ why wouldn't they have just done it initially? There must be some impact on reliability behind adjusting the tune. Any ideas on why the 300 is tuned to 255HP and the 350 AWD tuned to 306? Is it just to get people to spend the extra $5K?

It would be hilarious if they allowed some upgrade that could turn the 300 to a 350 after purchase $5k ECU upgrade option.

The IS300 and IS350 are exactly the same except the ECU.

Some say they use the same engine detuned, but I think there are some differences in the engine components them self. Selling the car with the same components for cheaper is actually stupid, so the difference could be cheaper components and low compression engine in my openion.

No one actually opened up the engine to confirm this. The material could be different and the compression ratio is still unknown.

The compression ratio is 11.8:1 on both the IS350 and IS300.

Edit: Edited to add link.

Something doesn't seem right, selling the same car for 5k less is not logical.
