Default Audi A4 and Dealership Review

Went into an Audi Dealership today looking for a new car on a lease. I have both 2015 is250 base and 2016 is350 f sport. My lease on the 250 is coming up soon and wanted to make the switch. Now that I live in the Chicago Land area I thought going Audi would be a good choice. Keep in mind both my cars are RW drive.

Price is around 44,100 for a pretty well equipped A4. Just asked whats the lease on one of these the sales man comes up with High 500's. I told him that seems quite high and the residuals are kinda of crazy. He shoots back with "What do you drive". Of Course I said is350 f sport but looking to replace the 250. He basically shoots with well thats a Toyota and I shoot back well this is a "VW". Basically shot him down with that crap quick.

The Interior on the A4 is very nice and has that European quality feel. The exterior styling very bland not that attractive compared to lexus newer models etc. The drive is very nice and the car feels planted with pretty nice power. Overall my is350 Kicks this car's *** for the money and price point which is only about 3 4k higher. The is250 base exterior and interior very nice but lacks the power and that quattro drive. We are talking 38k compared 44k. Still over not impressed with AUDI and would probably go try a BMW which will be my next step. Let me know what you guys think. I still believe lexus brand is underrated and couldn't be happier with the is350.

Test drive an S3, comes standard with quattro and the interior is just as nice as the A4 for the same price.

I just traded my A6 for a is350 F Sport. After a TERRIBLE lease experience with audi. I was paying almost $700 a month for my lease. Only 10k miles a year in los angeles. Yea....

I was in that crap for 2 years. Screw Audi. I will never buy from them again unless I have cash in hand and plenty of it for an RS5.

Make sure you try mercedes too if you are going euro.

Do you absolutely have to go euro? If your looking into a AWD, you can BUY a fully loaded STI under 40k. Might not be as fancy, but it will be a blast to drive.

Before I got the IS, I checked out the S3. It was a fully loaded, Sepang blue and looked amazing. Even though it was before negotiations, they were trying to get me on an $800/month lease with a down payment. Great car but definitely not for anything even near that price.

Why not get an IS300 or IS350 AWD?

Really was thinking about that as well. But damn 650 lease for that. Seems high.

Exactly. Initial quote on s3 725. Thinking I could get it down to 650 max still not worth it.

Didn't even think about the STI. Would need to go test drive it.

If you get an STI be sure to get rid of it after a year or 2. The motors are CRAP. Burn heaps of oil and usually about 50k miles the bearings go in them.

Is it something to do with the motor oil that you used in STI? Long time ago, I heard the oil pressure in STI needs to be very precise and the oil that doesn't create issues is the STI branded engine oil which is made by Motul.

Oil changes all by Subaru..

Just a design flaw with the motor... Sometimes you get a good one, but it seems there are more duds being produced than non-duds.. I know quite a few people that have had the same problem with burning oil and a handful of guys with destroyed engines.. They suddenly for no apparent reason get some rod knock and then very quickly, bye bye engine..

Cool cars and a blast to drive, but long term reliability is not there unfortunately..

Criteria would be Sedan, AWD, Navi and fund to drive. But do not wants to go with another IS. Quite a few choices but a lease under 450 would be nice.

That would automatically take this one out for me.

Default If not s model Audi forget it

Hey just to chime in give you heads up . I work at and Audi dealership and wouldn't want to own one , only if I had a lot of money to blow and don't care about money . Also only the s class are worth getting but again it's real real pricey . They have oil burning problems , which the motor burns a lot of it up and sometimes cars come in for hood latch that's stuck and also the gas door to the gas caps gets stuck too and tire pressure lights are very sensitive lol
