Hey CL. I was wondering if any of you guys have tried removing the silver trim in the picture where I have circled? Im trying to do a cf vinyl wrap. I would apprecaite it if anyone could help or have instructions/pictures of how to remove it.
I was informed by one of the guys at MyLparts that the piece you want to remove is actually glued to the door panel. But like Don said, you can always wrap it without removing it.
Thanks for the help guys. I hope I can get it on since I wanted to remove it so that way I can get all the edges. Ill upload photos once I get the results
It can be removed, it is not glued on. You have to remove the entire leather piece and the silver trim piece, then remove the silver trim piece from the leather piece if I remember correctly. Lots of screws to take out, some hard to get to.
you remove the 2 tabs to expose the screws behind where the grab handle and lock are then the one other srew along the side then just pull its all held on by clips

Really? Is this for all 4 door panels? If you can or have time, would it be possible if you can provide pictures with step by step? I would appreciate that alot!
I was gonna attempt of removing that silver trim without removing the entire panel off so what i did was remove the window control unit, then i saw 2 screws on the side that was holding the silver trim. If i was to remove those 2 screws, would i be able to pull it off or have to remove the whole leather piece like you mention just to get to that silver piece?
IIRC you have to remove everything to get to 1 screw that is tough to reach down low by the grab handle area
I was able to figure it out. You were right. I had to remove the door panels and there were lots of screws just to get through that silver trim and lots of hidden screws as well

Good news for me is it looks like this guy was able to make this happen.
I'll be removing my door panels tonight and taking them apart to get this silver trim hydro dipped. Lot's of work ahead and ill be without the door panels for the week but it'll be worth it in the end.
Would be splendid if you can capture pics of the screws to take out... thanks in advance. Is it this silver trim you guys are talking about?
Yup exactly. I've only looked at the drivers door. But so far I've determines the entire door covering will need to be removed and brought inside there seems to be a bunch of different screws to get that piece off but I am determined to remove all of these today. I'll try to remember to snap some photos for you.
