Back to topic, it also could be your brakes/tires getting wear out.
I smell this same manly scent as soon as I stepped out of the car whenever I use Manual + Sport + TC off and redline the car from 3rd to 5th gear with a combination of few downshifts
I love to drive my IS for fun. If I want peace, I usually hop to the family's RX or wife's RAV4.
no, I am primarily creating fun, at the expense of my car drivetrain wearing out a bit faster.
Such is life - almost all enjoyable things in life are dangerous, unhealthy or lead to expenses...
As long as drivers are not revving the car up high when it's cold and changing the oil in accordance with their use of the car, there's no need for judgment.
You can convince yourself using any sort of excuses you want. My take is that some people just take longer to grow up than others.
When a person ACTUALLY grows up, one of the realizations he has is that his opinion (aka his take) might not be the only one permitted. He also might accept that his take/opinion might not be the correct PoV at all.

I had the same problem. I looked everywhere to find a solution but mostly ended up with the catalytic converter problem. The thing is that whether the catalytic converter is healthy or not, the smell shouldn't come inside the cabin which led me to an exhaust leakage problem. exhaust band clamps almost tend to leak especially on hard acceleration when the pressure goes up significantly. Long story short, I sealed up the exhaust band clamps before the muffler, and guess what the smell completely went away. The clamps were almost close to tailgate and I wasn't so optimistic that it could solve the problem but hopefully, it did. you can watch the video of this dude to find out how to seal the clamps:
Guess what, people? I noticed this smell in my 2021 IS 350 today. I've got about 4750 miles on it, and have driven it pretty spiritedly on a regular basis throughout ownership so far. Though, I would say that, more recently, it's been "babied" a little due to lots of driving in-town and on longer highway drives. I smelled it multiple times in one drive, in fact. The first time I smelled it, I only hit about 5k RPM. This was after about 20 minutes of driving prior. So, I said to myself that maybe I need to do it again and see if it was my car or something outside. Sure enough, I smelled it again, though a bit more faintly, on a pull from about 3500-6000 RPM in second gear.
I'm 96% sure this isn't a real problem, but it does seem odd that I am smelling this A) on a warm-ish day (it was 70 degrees at the time) and B) on a car which I've driven more spiritedly than my last IS, which almost never had the smell. This isn't the first time I have smelled it, either - but I wasn't convinced it was the car until today. The last time I smelled it was on a spirited drive in the North GA mountains. It kinda went away after some time, however.
^^ If it's any consolation, I have experienced the same in mine too - I just assumed it is still new or something and not something I should be overly alarmed. I couldn't blame my wife's flatulence as I was alone in the car

Lol
Welp, guess I'll just have to work harder to make sure the cats heat up in the winter.
Loaner cars always smells like this after driving them (like I stole them). I don't know - could be an exhaust leak (very odd for less than 4K mile car). I got loaned two IS300s and after every spirited driving, they smell like rotten egg. Hopefully its not the tranny coz I love hitting that redline on these loaners.
Correct me if I am wrong but I assume as the car breaks in a bit more that it should go away - It is different if the car was older and a sign the catalytic converter is going bad or has a leak but so new, I just assume it needs a bit more use and heavy acceleration?!
I've had this occuring since day 1 since getting my 21 IS350. I've got about 11,000 km on the car so far. Can only smell it if I've got a window rolled down and under hard acceleration. Even rolling down the window an inch is enough to get the smell in.
Many theories have suggested it's common on newer cars since the exhaust components need to "break in". Others have said it's an exhaust leak or problem with cats.
All I can say is - it happened on my 2016 IS 300 AWD two or three times, all of which were pretty early on in my ownership. In this car, same story - it's been twice that I know of, both during spirited drives.
Since I am coming up on my first service at 5k miles, I could mention it to the service department and at least have them inspect the exhaust.
