Default Good deal?

Hi new here and was looking at getting a new IS 300 AWD F Sport. Buying from MN and dealer quoted me $44k for white/red w/ navi. MSRP, according to their sheet they gave me was a little over $46k. Thanks for your inputs.

I got $5k off my IS350 F-Sport last year. Some members have gotten $7k off. Definitely a terrible deal.

Wow 5k?! That's a lot off msrp. Maybe you got it close to the end of the year? Was yours a 15? Or 16?

I was lucky enough to get a 41k car down to 32K. I was on my way to the dealer expecting to buy a 32K car(White is250 2014 F-Sport w/ Nav) when they gave me a phone call to let me know that someone has already bought the car, so they got me a different car that was 41k(Black is250 2014 F-Sport w/ Nav) and gave it to me for 32K

The 5% discount offered sounds about right---perhaps a bit more if leasing. BUT......

If you are seeking the best possible discount off MSRP, you'll need to shop anywhere other than MN----BOTH Lexus dealers in MN are owned by the same company---Village Automotive Group.

The highest discounts seem to be located in Southern CA, where dealers are (get this) actually competing for your business....

Good luck.

yeah I called a dealer in Madison, WI and they were able to beat that price at $43,098. I originally offered the dealership at MN $43,000 but they wouldn't do it. I guess I'm going to Madison

Mine was a 2015 purchases in Feb 2016. I think your location hinders you from getting a great deal. I'm in so-cal so this price is pretty common.

That's a hell of a deal, even if it's a 250. This is for a new 250 right? Not L/Certified?

I went shopping a few weeks ago for a is350 F Sport. Found a '15 for 20% off with a few hundred miles which the manager offered me; but, I did not counter his offer as I decided on a '16. Did a little more searching and found one with the options I wanted and was able to get 12% off with no fluff.

I don't think there is any difference between the 2015 and 2016 but the couple hundred miles would bother me. The 2015 Nav system is way faster than the 2014. I have no lag issues with my infotainment. Thank god.

Now normally on these kind of deals, it sounds like a walk in deal. Is it? Or do you already know the car is there and start talking numbers? Trying to see how to best approach the dealership and maximize the deal.

I was concerned with the few hundred miles also. I asked if the car had been put into service; but the manager never answered me. But, he did say he would take care of the service. I guess the car was put into service a while ago. I lost my faith in this dealer. Also the car had a lot of fluff in it. Onto the next dealer.

I got a brand new 2016 Is350 Fsport in January.

MSRP 49,433
OTD 47,500

~6500 off

You just gotta look at more dealers, and make them out price each other lol

This was a walk in deal. I needed to drive the different models available to see which one I liked the best. Also, what options I wanted and what colors of exteriors and interiors I liked best.

From reading this forum, I noted some folks were getting from 10% - 12% discounts. So this became my target price. There are several ways to deal with dealers. In the past, I sent out 12 to 15 emails listing the options I wanted and requested the internet sales person to give me their best price. I have purchased two cars over the internet and had to fly to pick them up.

This time, I checked first about 10 dealers internet inventory for the car I wanted within 250 miles from me and called each dealer who had a car in stock. I talked with the internet sales person. I learned from this, its more likely the bigger dealers would be willing to sell for less than others.

I made a trip to a volume dealer and was able to get the deal. I told the dealer, I was here to buy a car today and asked them for their best price. I never made an offer to them. I kept them on the defense and controlled them from the start. Remember, keep one in the chamber. By the way, I was a negotiator for most of my working life.
