Default Smoking the rear tires vs Defeating the computer

So I just picked up a 2016 IS 200t and love the car. I decided to have a little fun and try to smoke the rear tires. I had a Jeep with a 5.7 HEMI in it before this so smoking the rear tires was easy in that.

Car settings: Sport Mode, 1st Gear, Traction Control OFF

As I was power braking the car, the rear tires started to break loose and smoke ... The issue came when I was slowing letting off the brake and keeping the gas down as to make some long 11's a message came on the dash saying something like brake and gas pedal pressed at the same time and then it bogged down and stopped smoking the tires

What's the trick to tricking the computer and getting some longs 11's down?

If you want to do that you need a different car. Lexus and newer toyotas have that fail-safe in place since they've had a history of unintended acceleration issues.

Don't get an Audi or VW either. They have that fail safe as well. Get something from Dodge. That'll burn your tires to trash in about an hour.

I could cook the tires on my HEMI powered Jeep

I wasn't expecting that type of tire smoke from the Lex but it was a little disappointment when that error message popped up and the car piratically stalled out

Yeah Toyota adopted that fail safe after a few years ago when people started complaining their accelerators were getting stuck in the open position...

I know what message you guys are talking about, but I've had no issue smoking the tires on my IS250... Make sure you're HOLDING down the TRAC OFF button for 5 seconds until the orange light comes on that way it is COMPLETELY off. Then try it.

I just pushed it once, it light up on the dash saying it was off ... I'll try holding it down for 5 seconds next time I have an open area.

You need to be at a complete stop for the 5 second button hold to work, and your dash will have two warning lights on for the entire time it is completely disabled. Mine is AWD so no smoke shows for me, but that is my version of snow mode haha. The real snow button is for my wife.

there are 3 traction modes.

1. default on. computer will restrict throttle when tires slip
2. semi off. computer will let tires slip a little before reducting throttle
3. completely off. computer will not restrict throttle and let tires spin. the display should show [TRAC OFF]
