Default IS350 Opening Garage Door By Itself?

Hello all,
I have a 2014 IS350 F Sport. I recently bought a house and programmed the garage door opener to my IS350. Worked great! I then began to find that my garage door was opening up by itself! It did it about 6 times in one day. I deleted the programming from my IS350 and the problem went away.

What could cause this? The IS350 buttons on the rear view mirror don't seem to be stuck.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Matt

Hello,

I've programmed it since the first day I got it and haven't had any problems like that. Only reason I can think of is the button is stuck but you mentioned that isn't the issue.

Darn. I've never had to do anything warranty related yet. I don't live near a dealer. I do have a Toyota dealer in town. Anyone ever had Toyota help out?

I agree with the others that your mirror most likely needs to be replaced.

My understanding is that you cannot have warranty work done at Toyota, only maintenance.

Thanks for the help, guys! I'm guessing the only real option is to drive it to a dealer, huh? Maybe I can get the screen replaced as well as the AR coating is rubbed badly...Thought that I read somewhere that they have been replacing this...

I will see if programming a different button solves the problem before I drive several hours to a dealer.

when you talk to the dealer, explain that it's a long drive. Take pictures of things and hopefully, they can preorder the parts so when you bring it in and it's verified, they can do the repairs right there, otherwise they give you a loaner and you still have to drive back and forth

I just spoke with an import dealer in town that sells Lexus. He told me that Lexus will bring me a loaner and take my car all the way back to the dealer for repair at the closest dealer that's located 2 hours away.

Anyone heard this? He said it sounds nuts but it's what they do if they aren't local.

I've contacted the dealer. Will keep everyone posted.

There's a dealer here that does that anywhere within the state. That's crazy.
