Yes, the upper control plate/audio plate controls both audio and HVAC and northern else.

Speaking of the new design that has the audio plate recessed between the side knee bolsters, I find it looks more luxury because of the hairline surface treatment on the plate and it blends the side knee bolsters well.

However, I prefer the pre-facelifted one as the audio plate visually floats. It is more unique. They change it probably because they need to accommodate the changes in other interior elements in order to give a more coherent look.

I read an article on the 2017 IS today that said the headlights you see on the F Sport pictures just released will NOT be carried over into the U.S.

"It's also revised the headlight shape, but Lexus is quick to note that the coolest looking headlights are "not US spec." Bummer."
Good find. I wonder if it means only the single lens projector (assume it is LED!) as depicted in the non F-Sport model in the pictures will be US-spec. Or the existing twin lens LED projector will be carried over. Really interested to see how lights blend with the revised front bumper.

The tail lights are ok but those front air ducts.. not sure what to think I'll reserve final judgement until I see the 2017 models in person.
I feel exactly the same way as you I like the LFA/RCF/GSF inspired front side mesh (where the fog lights should be) but the integrated front air ducts...

The question is whether we can swap the nav screens, won't be cheap for sure. Damn Lexus should've included this in the beginning.

I am thinking that it's quite possible that the whole nav system is upgraded to take advantage of the larger screen, as they did in the new RX and GS.

Sux. That means resolution will not match with old hardware.

The fine print of that is that this is only conjecture on my part. I didn't see anything about it in the press release.

with the new 10" NAV screen

best case scenario is will need only the Radio and possibly the Touch joystick

Worse case scenario, need Radio, touch joystick, amplifier and a whole gut rewire due to connector plugs and wiring pinout not matching up.

I will be looking into the conversion once wiring diagram is released for 2017 model in TIS and then keep eye out for crashed 2017's navi landing on ebay in a years time

Can someone tell me what this means?

"New stitching on top of the meter hood enhances the sporty feel of the Lexus IS cockpit"

What is a meter hood? Are they saying the dash now has colored stitching? I don't understand.

My guess would be the part of the dash that floats over the cluster. A lot of super cars do that with carbon fiber
