Highly doubt it. Visual references say other wise.
Changing a hood design even slightly would be millions of dollars in investment. If I can't tell the difference in photos, I doubt Toyota would be wasting 7 figures for that. My vote is it's the same.
very mild update that looks good. Nothing too extreme though. Glad that they reworked the cupholders and the interface looks updated. hopefully it works better!
Can someone post up some before and after photos because I can't see much difference in terms of cup holder designs what changed cause there still in the same place?
Off the top of my head, you get a full wide nav screen (no blacks on the sides), a new cupholder design, new steering wheel controls. The rear view mirror also looks different. Could be a photoshop thing though. Or could be an RC style frameless mirror. Most of what you see in these types of promo pics is photoshopped/artificially inserted anyway. But roughly these are the changes I know of.
Also someone posted this in another thread.. first real world shot I've seen of the refreshed IS. I'd love to retrofit those exhaust tips and rear diffuser, if possible.
Still looks alright but a bit disappointing. I don't know why they added amber to the taillights or didn't bother updating the rims for the F-Sport package. Also, the US press release doesn't show any images of the LED headlights that have the L shapes in them... maybe we aren't gonna get those in the US.
The amber you see is likely a reflection of the amber bulb inside. I was hoping it would be full LED. Maybe the above is a canadian model or something. I dont know.

I don't know why they messed with the tails at all, previous ones had horizontal line which gave the whole back of a car a subtle aggressive look of a solid premium car. Now they introduced unnecessary amber reflectors and whole LED curves up in a very weird way. It lost some elegance definitely.
I support the front end changes, still no perfect far away from it actually but a bit better and more cohesive.
In a way IS has the weakest face but somehow it managed to pull of that German feeling across the whole body and especially profile. Something GS and LS don't have.
