I understand Japanese cars typically are underpowered mainly bc that's their thing. But come on, if the Civic Type R is pushing around 300hp on an inline4, Toyota really needs to get their act together. They can't compete with German cars while still on the 306hp v6 configuration. Come on even Infiniti now has an option to go 400hp!!!! Toyota/Lexus needs to get their act together and provide us an engine that can compete. Bring back the old 2JZ motor or give us a turbo 4, better yet make it a turbo 6 with minimum 380hp!!! That is the perfect target between the v8 467hp f engine and our current underpowered v6 on the is350. 380hp minimum FTW!!!!!

They don't even need to bring back the IS-F. just a range topper like you said, anything above 330HP would be great. IS200t, keep the current IS350, and add another IS300t or to top it off.

All the cars you mentioned are Japanese.. and you can't compare a Civic Type R to a Lexus.

Infiniti.. yeah they got that new 400hp engine, but meh. There styling is outdated, interior is meh, reliability..meh

No, it is not underpowered by my standards, 300 HP with this weight is plenty, also I personally dislike turbos, to each his own.

lexus will probably add a couple more gears in the tranny so they don't have to put a new engine.. like the LC500 lol...

they do, but the 2is was timelessly classic. the interior was so much more luxurious than what we get now, even if the car is equipped with the luxury package. i miss my 2IS! i wonder what the 4IS will look like.

from what i can see, i like my pre-facelifted car better. glad i'm not jealous. hopefully the interior doesn't make me want to do a total conversion.

Looks like even more aggressive styling. Colour me curious. Also, please keep the red interior as an F-sport option!

If the motor options remain the same, I'm hoping Lexus will at least incorporate a mechanical LSD on the F-Sport version of the 2017 Lexus IS (which was recently added to the F-Sport version of the 2016 RC200t/RC350).

Is that a coupe?

My personal wishlist.

*Turbo 3 liter pushing ~350 hp
*Mechanical rear differential
*Wider Navi screen

Everything else looks great to me. New headlights, new LED taillights and turn signals. New chrome rectangular exhaust like the RX350.
