Alert: Nav system locking up
#61
I pulled into Torrance Lexus (in LA) at 2pm and drove out at 2:20pm all fixed up. They disconnected the battery. Then after re-connecting it the system did a reboot (looked like software was loading on the screen) and that was that. Never had to get out of my car. Have turned my car off/on 3 times since and no issues.
Previously I called Jim Falk Lexus in Beverly Hills and they were like "sorry... we don't have time for you..gonna take 3-4 hours". TERRIBLE service and made it sound like I was bothering them. Torrance Lexus was all OVER it. They were more than happy to take care of it right there in the arrival lane.

I had to take my vehicle to the dealership to fix the issue; took about 30 minutes. On my home I noticed my NAV screen would switch to NIGHT mode and DAYTIME mode when I went under a bridge or the sun got blocked. I normally have this switched to DAYTIME mode all the time and went to MENU then to DISPLAY and the DAYTIME mode option is gone. I have a 2015 NX 300h but wondered if anyone was experiencing this problem?

Looks like there's widespread outrage right now:

I just got the loop issue earlier after work. I just disconnected the negative for a bit and it seems to be fine now after the reboot initialization. I'll check back in a hour or so to see if it comes back.
EDIT: It's a been a few hours since, and I tried starting my car again and the issue is gone. My theory is that now that Lexus is aware of the issue, they've stopped the OTA software push so cars won't be receiving the buggy update anymore. Those earlier today that have tried the battery trick and had the same issue come up again was probably due to Lexus unaware of the issue and was still pushing the update.

Happened to me just now on the way home. Disconnect battery for good minz and reconnect, it worked for now but who knows... I have dvd bypass on my car and... I should take it out if i need to go to dealer right? That will be the pain to take it off.
