FML.. Windshield Chip
So, I was driving home from work, and all of a sudden a rock flew and chipped my windshield.
The chip is small about the size of dot made by a pen. It did not crack or went through. However, if I run my finger in the area, I can feel the chip.
Upon closer inspection, I find a lots of micro size chips that were probably made my sand-size rocks. Looks like little white dots.
Is this fixable, or should I even bother?
*chip is located at the bottom portion of the driver's side. (About 1.5-2in from the dash)

It happens. I live in AZ happened not too long ago and it started spreading. Good thing I have glass coverage and found a shop that replaced it with oem Lexus glass from the dealer. Covered under insurance!

I think filling is the best option. I've seen some filler kits on amazon. Any of these work?

Anyone got experience with these DIY kits?

So, I called Safelite. They quoted me $100 out of pocket to fix. I'm not sure about my insurance policies (I have farmers), since I am still under my parents. But I'm more than willing to just pay on my own, if its a decent price.

There might be a few window shops that will fill a chip for free. I know of at least one in the Bay Area. Since it's generally pretty cheap, I don't think your insurance would cover unless you have something that covers glass.

You mind sharing where this shop is? I also live in the Bay Area.

I called a Co-Worker's friend at AAA, the guy said chips like the one in my photo aren't repairable because its merely a nick in the top layer. If it did not penetrate thru, or cause any cracks or spreading. It can't be repaired.
