Performance wise, I highly doubt ECU tune, cat back exhaust and intake can make 200t as quick as 350. A 350 engine is rated at 306 hp and 200t produces 241 hp according to Lexus. That's 65 hp difference between them. I would say full cat back exhaust and intake can add 20 extra whp for 200t but probably do not expect a lot from 200t ECU tune. It is just like full bolt on 350 cant walk ISF, sample as that.

Resetting some expectations..

Performance-wise, the 350 is probably a better deal, but some may prefer the engine dynamics of a turbocharged vehicle.

Also, there is that added fun of making a car uniquely yours via modding.

I don't argue that a 200t can equal a 350; they're different cars with different strengths. But that shouldn't automatically make the 200t a lost cause.

There is no replacement for displacement.

Understandable. I am not sure if a reflash would adjust the RPM of the spooling, but who knows.

An ECU reflash + turbo back (downpipe + high flow cat + cat back) + intake should put this car in the IS350 ball park. I am a '15 IS350 owner, and based on my previous factory turbo vehicles and mods, I believe an IS200t with full turbo bolt ons would be able to keep up with a stock IS350. The gap between the IS200t and 350 is only ~65hp, the difference between an IS350 and an ISF is ~114. Also, the ISF has an LSD to put the power down to the ground.

I believe an IS200t with full mods will keep up with a stock IS350.

We will see soon enough.

The IS350 F Sport is more than just an engine upgrade, you also get the ML sound system, sport suspension and steering. Even if the IS200t could keep up with the 350 after mods, I still would buy a 350 every single time.

I don't believe the IS350 F-Sport comes standard with the Mark Levinson sound system. The only non-engine feature it has over the 200t is the AVS.

Still 60 less hp. 80lhs less wouldn't make any noticeable difference.

Where are you deriving the 80lbs figure from? Lexus specifications have the IS350 official curb weight at 3,593 lbs while the IS200t official curb weight is 3,583 lbs (a 10 pound difference between the two models).

My mistake. The difference is not about 80lbs. More like 154lbs. If you look at the weight of 200t and 350 f sport rwd on the offical lexus site. The 200t is 3583lbs and 350 is 3737lbs.

The 200t would have to be 2500 lbs in order for me to buy it over a 3600 lb 350. even 150 lbs will not be noticeable.

Website is wrong. If you look at the AWD info, you get the same curb weight. I have an official product sheet attached for your convenience.

The 350 AWD is 3,737 lbs. The 350 RWD is 3,593 lbs.

Lexus.com has an error, listing both the RWD and AWD 350 as the same weight.

Here are all of the weights:

My 350 certainly feels a lot heavier than 3600 lbs.

They're just very solid feeling cars. Heck, a RWD GS350 is only 3726 lbs.
