Default 3IS popping noise from doors when driving over bumps

Anyone noticed popping noises (similar to sound when refrigerator door opens) from any of the doors when driving over bumps at about 30 - 40 mph? If you do/did was it fixed and how was it fixed? Dealer added 'extra padding ' and lubricantsed the door seals on mine. The frequency of the popping noise has reduced however, when it does pop, it's worst than before. Any suggestions?

I have the same popping noise but I'm pretty sure it's the front seat belt tensioners rattling over bumps. I've lived with it for two years now. Dealer tried twice to fix it with padding around the tensioner reels to no avail. Dealer says it's a common complaint. Meh, Lexus needs to do better with little things like this that will drive you crazy because the tensioners are right next to your ear.

So it's not the door gasket or the door? It's the seat belt tensioner then?

That's what I think and my dealer thought so too.

Here to chime in.

Although I don't hear "pops". I did hear "clicking" once in a while. It sounds like rocks or something hitting the windshield or body of the car. MAYBE IT IS?

However, the sounds seems like it is coming from inside the cabin, and not outside..?

This happens when go fast on the freeway or hitting bumps. But yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... Anyone experienced this as well? or am I just hearing things..

I have a noise coming from my driver's door when I go over bumps too at a similar speed (city driving). My car is a '14 with 40k miles on it. I wonder if it is the window that is shifting when it hits bumps needed readjustments, especially being the driver's door that opens and closes the most.

I just went to my fridge and open and closed the doors. It sounds the kind of like it my mine sounds like a squeak too.

What you're likely hearing are the rubber seals rubbing against each other as the body warps going over bumps. Consider lubricating the seals. Honda Shinetsu grease is purpose made for this. I had the same problem with the driver's door seals and this solved it, but requires regular re-application (every couple months).

I've been dealing with my own similar noise(s). Frustrating. The biggest 'clue' for me is that it gets much better or gone with the driver's window cracked open.

Dealer lubed the seals and quieted the grab handles above the left side doors (didn't really help). I applied Wurth rubber care. Also messed with various taping of surfaces, etc. In the end, i still have some noises when the car hits potholes, bumps, or flexes significantly. (I think the passenger side also makes some noises but I'm focusing on fixing the driver's side first). I'm nearly ready to take it back to the dealer but wanted to exhaust all i can do easily first.

Seems like this kind of thing is quite common on Lexus's, based on reading posts on this forum. However, it seems as if there are a variety of causes. Frustrating!
