I'm going with Akebonos soon.
I put them on recently since they don't throw off brake dust like the OEM ones. They are just as good and were only $47 for the fronts from Amazon.

Didn't know what i was doing and just took the dealers recommendation.
Im at 27k, went in for my 25k and they said they'll just do the 30k.

~600 for the service, and then another ~600 to replace all break pads and then the front 2 rotors that got grinded too deeply into.

Toyota quoted me $220 for the front pads and rotor resurfacing.

have you looked to see if the pads were thin? Dealers like to BS you on replacing pads and especially the rotors

My Toyota pickup has 100K on it, so I checked the brakes the other day. They look like they're good for another 50K.
Have someone other than the stealer look at your brakes.

i changed my rotors/pads at 18k miles! replaced them with stoptech rotors and pads, much better then the OEM pads(dusted like crazy) all for less then $200!! much better then lexus quoting me $800 for parts and labor!!
i used DOT 4 fluid as it last longer and is better with heat then DOT 3.

Fluid should be flushed every 30k miles.

I got mine replaced at around the 20k mark as well. I paid about $350 for brake pads and rotors. $250 of it was the service fee...
