Might Need New Brakes Soon
my 2015 is350 f sport has 20k miles on it, so the dealership said they are recommending me to replace my front brakes soon. Havent seen the price they are quoting my, but j/w if i dont go with the dealership brakes, what brakes, and from where, should i go with??

You should do a search in the Brake forum for more advice.
Dealer wanted $670 to replace my front rotors and pads at 20-22k. I did it myself quickly for about $200 on parts using Stop Tech/Centric High Carbon Premium Rotors ($75+ each) and Akebono ACT pads ($50+). It's easy and you'll love the non-dusting of the aftermarket pads.

For a front rotor and pad replacement? Or just replacing the pads? If it's a full, that's a heck of a deal and I'd go for it. If it's the pads only w/o resurface - it's way overpriced (and expected of dealers) for a few minutes of work and $50 parts. I believe they don't recommend resurfacing rotors, but if its in spec, why not?

The rotor could be scored or too thin - which you can't tell if it's not shaking. I think it only shakes if its warped. The rotor thickness needs to be measured and checked for cracks/scoring. You definitely don't want the disc to crack/warp under hard/emergency braking because it has either of these qualities.

Rather than believing everyyhing the dealer recommends, why don't you inspect the front pads yourself to make sure? If there is plenty of thickness left you don't need to replace them. I doubt you will need new pads st 20k unless you drive it hard.
