Default Front Grille Color/Paint/Plastidip

Hey guys, first official thread here. Just wanted to find out from everyone here if they paint their entire front grilles black or do they leave it the color from OEM, and just paint the chrome area around it? Not sure which way I should go. Pictures and everything would be helpful if you have it. I searched

It's tedious but taking the time to mask off the chrome and only dip the crome is the way to go IMO. Or you could take it to a local vinyl shop and have it done that way.

If anything i would remove the chrome piece then vinyl it. My question is do people paint their grilles black since its like a gun metal look?

Most (if not all) only dip/wrap the chrome surround piece and leave the grille as is. Here's a good link to show pictures on different colors.

To me, the grille is so close to black that it's not worth the trouble of removing and painting it true black. I'm sure I'd break a tab or two (or whatever holds it). Here's mine up close. It is vinyl wrapped, but once it chips all to hell, I'll just plastidip it.

That looks pretty sweet. Thanks for the pictures!! I'll probably wind up just doing this and see how I like the outcome.

Has anyone gotten it painted by a body shop? My 3is is black with black painted oem wheels. My front bumper is damaged and will soon be painted. Wondering what it will look like if i just ask body shop to color match the grill surround black.
