I like the GS but it's a little on the old side.

One year into the ownership of my 2014 IS350, I still love driving it every day.
I owned an Infiniti G35 right before the IS and a friend has the Q50 Hybrid. Fast, but the ride quality and comfort just aren't up to par with the others in this group.
I had a C class loaner for a day when I first got the IS, and liked it more than I thought I would. Enough to think about the plug-in hybrid when it comes out.
I did recently have a multi-day RC loaner. While familiar, it was a tad more responsive than the IS and I actually made up excuses to keep it longer than I should have... so I guess that would get my vote, if it were an option.

I had the next gen Audi S4 in mind as a candidate for my next purchase in a few years. I came to find out that they removed the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and replaced it with an 8-speed ZF automatic. I test drove the Q50s before deciding on the IS350 F-Sport and the car felt comfortable on the inside but the wood (fake?) trim slathered in an inch of shiny/reflective lacquer made it look cheap. The twin screens were also awkward to use.

I've test driven all of the above and ended up buying the IS, so another IS it is
BMW: I just can't stand the interior design, and not a huge fan of the exterior
Benz: Probably my favorite out of the bunch, looks very nice (inside and out), drives nice, sits comfortable, fun factor/performance was very good (test model C450), but 4 yrs power train only?? what are they not confident in their own product??
Infiniti : I've test driven a variety of Q cars, the all perform very well, just a step below the C450... transmission was responsive, acceleration was smooth, exterior is nice, interior was a little not my cup of tea..
Lexus: not the most exciting out of the bunch, exterior is a very acceptable look, interior is by far my favorite, but the deciding factor was the reliability at the end.

^Hyundai offers 10 yrs/100k. Relative to that, you could say Lexus is not confident in their own product.
It's just a matter of business. Mercedes/BMW sell just fine with a 4/year-50k warranty. Why needlessly broaden their financial liability? Cars are a business.

The 10yrs/ 100k warranty is in response to their infamous reputation as *****box from the 90s. The warranty is kinda second rate as Its non-transferable to the second owner...kinda kills resell. I agree that Mercedes / BMW lease just fine and the warranty period covers that lease pretty well. Many fear the repair costs of those vehicles and go that way...conversely the CPOs are attractive because they cover to 100k miles. Lexus kinda sells on reliability so most don't care as much about the warranty period. Infiniti also has a long warranty and which i was happy about as that needed quite a bit of warranty work. I'm also super happy i bought the extended warranty on my G35 coupe...every single door / window motor broke on that car

Yeah my mom had two brand new G37s and they both had a TON of MAJOR stuff go wrong with them. Full transmission replacements, constantly being stranded. My 10 year old 150,000 mile BMW rescued her brand new Infiniti multiple times.

If I'm not mistaken the red sport uses the twin turbo Mercedes V6 =) I'd rather just have the Mercedes!
