Curbed Tire -- Repair or Replace?
Hey everyone ... so my tire got curbed this morning (pretty badly). Great way to ruin your Friday. Anyways, I called the dealer and, as expected, they said a replacement was $651+tax. I wasn't able to find any stock rims listed online (ebay or CL classifieds). Is anyone looking to get rid of a front '14-'16 IS 250 F sport rim ... or know a good alternative? I found a replacement from Wheels America (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-2015-Lexus-IS250-IS350-OEM-Factory-Original-18-OE-Front-Wheel-Rim-74292-/252561235932?fits=Make%3ALexus%7CModel%3AIS250). Has anyone heard of them or had luck with them? It's a lease so i'm only going to have to live with it for a few more months, but I've read a lot about never getting the color to match the other rims. Any help/suggestions is GREATLY appreciated.

Done this plenty of cars, luckily I have tire&wheel coverage. Sounds like you don't. I would find a local wheel shop to fix the rim. Most places charge about 100 and take a few hours or a whole day, wheels come out looking brand new. As for the tire- if it's chewed up you'll want to replace that.

The car is a lease and that curbage is nothing. Touch it up like E46CT suggested and save your money. I have am going to touch up one of my wheels, but it's a lot worse than yours because I need to add some filler to it. You can make that look decent in 5 minutes.

Mine is a lease ... and I did get that tire coverage. Turns out, it's a joke. At least my I got through my dealer. My plan is through Fidelity Warranty and only covers tire damage from road debris/conditions. The wheel it self is half *** covered. "Wheels are not covered unless there is a covered repair or replacement of the tire mounted on that wheel". Also found out that is only $200 for tire & $200 for wheel per indicent, up to $1,200. I'm pretty pissed at myself for not reading the fine print when agreeing to this garbage. I've never gotten the protection plan before, and even specifically asked "does this cover curb rash". That was my only concern and they said yes.

Dont bother with replacing the wheels with new OE ones. just go to to a wheel paint shop and have it repaired and touched up. It will cost less then 200 per wheel, and it will look brand new. Much better then paying 650+ for a new wheel
Good luck
